The old fashioned way
- SSMTP (w/ Fastmail as SMTP relay)
- Heirloom Mailx
$ cat /etc/smtp/smtp.conf root=mielikki@example.com hostname=example.com mailhub=smtp.fastmail.com:465 useTLS=YES FromLineOverride=YES authUser=<snip> authPass=<snip> $ /usr/bin/mailx -r 'John Doe <jdoe+abc@example.com>' -s 'Pic from today' -a pic.jpg jdoe@example2.com <snip>
SSMTP log configuration
- Passing "-v" to mailx makes it invoke ssmtp the same way, and logs appropriate output to stdout
- Is it possible to make SSMTP log additional information by default?
